Spinal Adjustment

Chiropractors are probably best known for treating various aches and pains with a spinal adjustment. Spinal adjustments, sometimes called chiropractic adjustments, is a procedure performed by a chiropractor using just his or her hands or a small instrument to give a spinal joint a sudden force that is controlled. Oftentimes, a spinal adjustment is referred to as manipulation. The entire focus of the effort is to help align the spine and thus, reduce stress and relieve pain and discomfort from throughout the body. The procedure is unique to the profession, and has been found to be very effective in relieving back pain as well as the pain and stiffness experienced in other joints and body parts.

Treatment

Chiropractors use several different techniques to relieve discomfort. One of the most popular techniques is the activator method, which involves using an activator adjusting instrument to provide constant clicks that offer a consistent, low-force mechanical force. One technique that is specific to the chiropractic profession is the Kale technique, which involves the use of a special adjusting table that involves a procedure that assists in adjusting and cervical region that surrounds the brain stem. The Thompson Terminal Point Technique requires a precision adjusting table equipped with a weight mechanism that provides tension to hold the patient up prior to a thrust being given. There are many other techniques as well. The technique used is dependent upon the condition and the severity of the condition. We offer all the leading techniques and have been trained to perform adjustments properly, effectively and safely. Your condition is completely assessed before a technique is chosen to treat you.
