Plantar Fascitis

Two million people each year suffer from excruciating pain in the heel. It may be in just one heel or it could be in both. It may be the result of a degenerative process or sudden foot trauma. The foot pain is usually worse in the morning or immediately after non-weight-bearing activities or sitting. Activity or weight can sometimes impact the pain.

One problem with plantar fasciitis is that people try to compensate for the pain. With that being said, if you suffer from foot pain, you are going to try to move the body in various ways to avoid the pain. Moving around can result in injuries to other body parts and even throw your entire spine and body out of alignment.

Chiropractors manually manipulate the plantar in order to relieve plain and reduce the tension being experienced. Exercises will also be recommended, including isometric toe curls. Strengthening of the calf muscle group is also important. A brief self-massage of the plantar fascia before climbing out of bed can also be helpful. Changing footwear may also be recommended.
